Military Pre-Retirement Counseling
AFSC counselors stand ready to assist you with your retirement concerns. Our pre-retirement packet is designed to help you identify issues that may require action when retiring. This comprehensive report is based on your personal information.
If you are retirement eligible now or will be retirement eligible shortly, please call AFSC to bring your Familiy Information Record (FIR) Benefit Report up to date, give us a prospective retirement date and request a retirement packet.
Your retirement packet will cover in detail: Survivor Benefit Plan (SBP), SGLI/VGLI conversion, medical & dental insurance conversion/entitlements, VA disability entitlements and application, Montgomery GI Bill, Social Security, TRICARE, allotments, and terminal leave vs. sellback of accrued leave, etc.
We encourage you to read the information, formulate your questions, and then make an appointment with, or call, an AFSC counselor. Their expertise in the issues surrounding retirement can assist you with your decisions.
